Overview
The minor in French, totaling 15 units, is available for students majoring in other disciplines. It may be of particular value to students majoring in English, Spanish, or other languages and literature; History, Political Science, Pan-African Studies, Sociology, or International Business.
Enrollment Requirement
Completion of FREN 1001 and FREN 1002 or an equivalent level of proficiency is required prior to joining this program. Proficiency may be demonstrated by high school preparation or by a departmental evaluation.

Requirements for the Minor (15 units)
Lower Division Required Courses (6 units)
Choose 6 units from the following courses. Note that FREN 2002 or equivalent competency is needed for most courses in Upper-Division Elective Group A. Upper Division Electives (9 units)
Group A: Electives Taught in French or Bilingually (3-9 units)
At least one upper-division course taught in French is required. FREN 3101 and 3102 are taught bilingually, and French minors will do work in French.
Group B: Electives Taught in English (0-6 units)
