Aviation Administration, B.S.

The Bachelor of Science in Aviation Administration requires a total of 120 units, of which 72 units are in the major.

The 21 units of lower-division core courses may be transferred from a regionally accredited institution where the student studied an aviation or business-oriented program, such as airframe and power plant maintenance, air traffic control, air transportation, commercial pilot, travel management, and etc. Transfer students who have not completed lower-division general education courses and/or the lower-division core courses at the time of entrance to Cal. State L.A. must fulfill the lower-division requirements and complete the prerequisite courses prior to taking the upper-division courses to meet the degree requirements. 

In addition to the 66 core units, all students must complete a total of 6 Directed Electives units from one area or 3 units from each area.

Area 1 - Aviation OperationsThe Aviation Operations coursewok allows students to study aviation topics in more detail such as aircraft sales, air traffic, and other aspects of operations.

Area 2 - Operation and Supply Chain ManagementThe Operation and Supply Chain Management coursework allows students to study aviation management topics in more detail. These topics will enhance the students ability in the areas of aviation leadership, Project and service management, and inventory and quality management.

Students should consult with an advisor for the requirements in all areas of the degree, including GE and free electives.
