The Department of Accounting offers a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting, designed to prepare individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree in a field other than accounting for entry into the accounting profession.
Admission Requirements:
- Admission to the University with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than accounting with a minimum 2.5 grade point average and completion of 18 units of prerequisites (the lower division Business Administration core courses) listed below.
ACCT 2100 , ACCT 2110 , CIS 1200 , ECON 2010 , ECON 2020 , FIN 2050
- Submission of transcripts or official grade reports for the above courses to the Department of Accounting for evaluation.
- A minimum of 75 units, a minimum 2.5 grade point average, and minimum C grades in all accounting courses are required for completion of the program. Refer to the Undergraduate Studies: General Information chapter of this catalog for general regulations governing all certificate programs.

Accounting Electives: from list A, select and complete 6 to 18 units.
Business-Related Electives: from list B, select and complete 9 to 21 units.
