Television, Film and Media Studies, B.A.


The program leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Television, Film and Media Studies emphasizes both theoretical understanding and practical application of the mass media of communication in contemporary society. This major offers two interdisciplinary options: Journalism, and Television and Film. It is the primary objective of our curriculum to develop a knowledgeable and artistically skilled graduate who will be able to pursue an advanced degree and/or a professional career in radio, television, and cinema. The program emphasizes the importance of the media in constructing awareness of the multi-cultural composition of society, as well as the media’s impact on all aspects of human interaction.

The total number of units required for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Television, Film and Media Studies is 120 units, of which 60 units are in the major. Consult with an adviser for the specific number of units required in all areas of the degree including GE and free electives.
