The undergraduate program in French includes a major for the Bachelor of Arts degree and a choice of minors in French or in interdisciplinary Francophone Studies.
The total number of units required for the Bachelor of Arts degree in French is 120 units, of which 45 units are in the major. Consult with an advisor for the specific number of units required in all areas of the degree including GE and free electives; some courses may double-count in major, minors, and GE.
Prior to beginning the Bachelor of Arts program in French, students must have completed FREN 2002 or demonstrate equivalent language competency.
In order to take courses numbered 3100 or above, students must demonstrate speaking and writing competency at the intermediate-mid level through successful completion of FREN 2990. FREN course numbers ending in 8 may be taught in English or French; check GET to verify the language of instruction.
