The minor degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) requires 16 semester units. This minor will not be available to students in the Electrical Engineering (EE) major. A minimum major GPA of 2.5 will be required to declare this minor.

This minor provides students in related engineering and science programs with the opportunity to gain fundamental knowledge, develop skills in different groups of the ECE disciplines, and to participate in interdisciplinary studies.  Completion of the minor in ECE will also prepare these students for graduate studies in ECE.

Students declaring the ECE minor can request up to 4 units of the coursework in their major core requirement to be credited to this minor. They can also request up to 3 units of coursework in their major electives to be credited to this minor. The above-mentioned unit credits have to be approved by a faculty advisor in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Students who take the following courses in this minor program need to fulfill all the prerequisites, and pre/co-requisites shown in parentheses.

EE 2040  (Pre/Co-requisites: MATH 2120 , PHYS 2200 )
EE 2450  (Pre/Co-requisite: ENGR 1500 )
