Overview
The Minor in Creative Studies in Music supplements existing music major programs by offering a curriculum that combines music composition, improvisation, applied world music and creative applications of technology into a single skills-based program.

Prerequisites to the program:
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Minor in Creative Studies in Music, the student will have the ability to:
- Improvise in a variety of styles;
- Use music technology in performance and composition outside of the standard commercial applications;
- Show proficiency through perfomance and composition in at least one non-Western, world music style (Arabic music, West African music, etc.).

Lower Division Required Courses (2)
Upper Division Required Courses (17 units)
Students must take MUS 4600 twice
