The Veteran Services Certificate Program is an undergraduate credit certificate program designed for students in Rehabilitation Services, Social Sciences and Health and Human Services, and any professionals interested in working with the veteran population such as:
- veterans who want to serve other veterans
- active-duty military personnel interested in a career serving veterans
- education and career advisers who work with veterans
- veterans’ service officers
- human resources professionals in organizations committed to hiring veterans
- law-enforcement personnel and other first responders
- students in rehabilitation services, health and human services, and social science
It prepares students with a specialty area that will increase their knowledge and skills unique to working with the military veterans and their families. It requires a minimum of 18 units, selected in consultation with the Rehabilitation Services Program Coordinator. The program includes course work in rehabilitation services and mental health counseling designed specifically for rehabilitation education.

Note:
Current Cal State LA students enrolled in an undergraduate program with good academic standing are qualified for admission to the program. Non-matriculated students and students other than Rehabilitation Services students are required to complete COUN 4480, Career Assessment and Development (3) and COUN 4490, Job Development & Placement (3) in order to receive the certificate. In order to receive the Veteran Services Certificate, a minimum C grade in all courses designated for this program is required. |
