Notice to Students Regarding Professional Licensure and Certification  

The Geology B.S. degree program is designed to provide in-depth study of Earth materials, structures, and processes for professional work in fields such as engineering geology, hydrogeology, economic geology, or graduate study. The total number of units for the Bachelor of Science degree in Geology is 120 units.

The Geology option requires 26 units of foundational courses. Additionally, this option requires a total of 52 units, which consist of 14 units of lower division, 28 units of upper division, and 10 units of electives. The Environmental Geosciences Option requires 25 - 28 units of foundational courses. Additionally, this option requires a total of 52- 55 units, which consist of 14 lower division, 22 units of upper division, and 16-19 units of electives.
