The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry participates in the interdisciplinary Bachelor of Science degree program in Natural Science, which has been approved by the State of California as meeting the subject matter requirements for the Single Subject teaching credential in Science. The Chemistry Emphasis in the Natural Science degree program prepares students for teaching chemistry at any grade level through grade 12. In addition, holders of a Single  Subject, Standard Secondary, or Special Secondary teaching credential issued by the State of California may complete the supplementary courses described below to meet the requirements for State of California Supplementary Authorization in Chemistry.
