Enrollment
A minor in music is available for students majoring in other fields. A minimum of 18 units is required.
Program Learning Outcomes
- An understanding of the role of music in society through performance and/or critical analysis.
- An understanding of procedures for realizing and communicating a variety of musical styles and structures in their historical and cultural contexts.
- Proficiency in realizing the basic elements of musicianship, including rhythm, melody, harmony, structure, timbre, and texture.

Requirements for the Minor (21-22 units)
Students must be enrolled in or have completed MUS 1011 and MUS 1012 in order to enroll in applied lessons.
Required Course (10 units)
Ensemble Courses (4 units)
Applied Music (2 units)
Complete 2 units in one of the following areas of specialization:
Music History Elective (5-6 units)
