Business Administration, B.S.: Option in Real Estate

A total of 120 units is required for the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with the Business Arts- Prelegal, Finance and Real Estate Option. The BSBA degree with any of these options requires completion of 66 units in  the major. Consult with an adviser for the specific number of units required in all areas of the degree including GE and free electives.

Core Requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (45 units)


Notes:


  • BUS 4970   is the capstone course and requires completion of all the core courses. It is strongly recommended that the course be taken toward the end of the program.
  • It is strongly recommended that when taking the upper-division core courses, students follow the sequence: CIS 3010 , BUS 3050 , FIN 3030 , ECON 3060 , MKT 3100 , MGMT 3060 , MGMT 3070 , MGMT 3080 , BUS 4150 , and BUS 4970 .
  • ECON 3060  is double-counted in upper division GE Block B: Natural Science and Mathematics
  • MGMT 3080   is double-counted in GE Block C: Upper Division Requirement: Arts and Humanities.
  • BUS 3050  is designated as a Writing Intensive (wi) course.

Option (Discipline Skills) Requirements for Real Estate ( 21 units)


This option prepares students for careers in real estate, and for real estate licensing examinations. It also prepares students for further study of real estate at the postgraduate level.  Students should take their real estate courses as early as possible to facilitate their job.

Additional Required Courses


Students may require two additional courses to meet the 120 units required for graduation.  These courses should be taken outside of the major and be selected to meet improve writing, communication, and presentation or technical skills for the job market (unless one is pursuing a minor in another field).  Recommended courses are: ENGL 3030 (Professional and Technical Writing), TA 1410 and TA 1420 (Acting I and II), Courses involving Argumentative Writing and Applied Writing, and Courses Developing Negotiation, Interpersonal, and Presentation Skills, and FIN 4030 (Intermediate Business Finance).
