Professional uses of the proposed degree major program.
The certificate program provides grounding in the psychosocial landscape within which veteran services are offered and within the broad context of the experience of war and the challenge of returning to civilian life. The curriculum focuses on the mental health and well-being of the veteran population. This certificate is designed for individuals who are working or decide to work with military personnel, such as:
- · veterans who want to serve other veterans
- · active-duty military personnel interested in a career serving veterans
- · education and career advisers who work with veterans
- · veterans’ service officers
- · human resources professionals in organizations committed to hiring veterans
- · law-enforcement personnel and other first responders
- · students in rehabilitation services, health and human services, and the social sciences
