Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
PLOs:
- Apply public health knowledge to urban public health problems using principles from social and behavioral sciences, biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, health services administration, program planning and evaluation, research methods and health policy
- Define and address the major health challenges facing Los Angeles in particular and urban areas in the United States in general
- Apply the appropriate quantitative tools and methods to conduct evidence-based health policy analysis and program evaluation; determine appropriate use of data for problem identification and resolution; and evaluate the integrity and comparability of data
CONCENTRATION Learning Outcomes (MPH in Urban Community Health)
1. Analyze the role and relationships of social determinants and urban health outcomes locally and/or globally.

2. Develop sustainable theory- and evidence-based strategies that influence health equity in resource-limited settings among urban populations.

3. Apply appropriate methods and techniques to analyze the effectiveness of urban public health interventions, programs, and/or policies
