C1. How will the changes fit with the Institutional Mission / Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILO)

The changes included in this Program Modification will fit with the ILO in the following ways: 1. Knowledge: Mastery of content and processes of inquiry The additional classes added as electives in the Production and Post-Production Option will give students the opportunity to continue to develop their skills in areas of Directing, Producing, Cinematography and Editing. These areas are crucial to our students success as they move into their careers 2. Proficiency: Intellectual skills These advanced course will demand that student combine the aesthetic, critical and skill based elements. This application demands careful application and demonstration of intellectual skills 3. Place and Community: Urban and global mission These advanced courses will allow students to further develop their skills as media makers and storytellers so they can more effectively communicate their unique stories, helping to strengthen needed diverse voices and perspectives in our media landscape. 4. Transformation: Integrative learning These advanced courses will actively engage with each other in a manner representative of the relationships in the industry. These courses will serve as professionalizing experiences and serve to enhance work done inside the classroom and in conjunction with industry experiences and partnerships.

C2. Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

  1. Demonstrate creative skill sets

  3. Know structure, professional practices, and professional standards 
  4. Develop skills for effective career building 
  5. Know the industrial, historical, and aesthetic components of media 
  6. Develop a greater appreciation for the necessity of collaboration, ethics, and professional behavior 
  7. Have a greater appreciation for social responsibilities of media 

Program Learning Outcomes:

  1. Analyze the impact of emerging trends within nutrition, health, and wellness as it relates to the hospitality and customer experience.
  2. Employ a variety of operational and logistics skills to deliver a high quality hospitality, wellness, and leisure experiences.
  3. Demonstrate essential financial, communication, and human resource skills needed to operate a successful and financially sound hospitality business.
  4. Analyze how cultural differences, traditions, and social inequality shape the hospitality workplace and experience.
  5. Apply management and leadership knowledge and skills to the field of hospitality, wellness, and leisure services.
