C2. Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

1. Demonstrate the ability to communicate successfully with native speakers of French in a limited range of contexts (personal, familiar topics) on at least the ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) Intermediate Low level.
2. Describe some basic characteristics of cultures in a variety of Francophone countries.  Analyze differences between these cultures and student’s own.  
3. Analyze historical, political, cultural, or literary aspects of some Francophone countries.  Apply this analysis to student’s major field of study or area of personal interest.
4. Demonstrate familiarity with library and information technology as part of a well-rounded education in the humanities, and exploit such technology to find resources in French or about Francophone countries and cultures.
