C1. Fit with the Institutional Mission / Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILO)

Although a new degree program, this program option has existed and successfully met the institutional mission and ILOs for decades.  It’s strong mastery of theories and concepts is critical to this program as well as information literacy in the field of applied behavior analysis.  Diversity, equity, and inclusion are infused throughout the program and is one of the critical competencies the students must master.  This is a highly practical and applied program and is highly quantitative in single-case experimental design.  Students must demonstrate high analytical data-based reports written especially for an audience of parents, caregivers, and other stakeholders.  They are also expected to provide larger presentations to groups including dissemination with parents, caregivers, other analysts in training, and stakeholders.  Also students provide applied services to individuals in the community to address bother behavioral deficits and excess to increase the quality of life for their clients.  Their fieldwork is conducted in schools, homes, and other community settings.  Our students do all of the above while complying with the Behavior Analysis Ethics Code.
