Specifically, upon completion of the BINF minor students will:

• understand how molecular biology information is organized into databases.
• use computational methods to analyze molecular biology data.
• use statistical methods to assess the robustness of molecular biology outcomes generated from bioinformatics software programs.
• engage in active bioinformatics research with a strong and growing group of faculty.
• create fundamental software tools to analyze molecular biology data.
• gain a deep understanding of the properties of biomolecules.
