Business Administration, B.S.: Option in Business Economics


A total of 120 units is required for the Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with the Business Economics Option. The BSBA degree with this option requires completion of 45 units in BSBA core courses and 21 units in the option. Consult with an adviser for the specific number of units required in all areas of the degree including GE and free electives.

Note: ECON 2010 or ECON 2020 is double-counted in GE Block D.

Notes:


1: BUS 4970 is the capstone course and requires completion of all other core courses, both lower and upper division. It is strongly
    recommended that the course be taken toward the end of the program.

2: It is strongly recommended that when taking the upper division core courses, students follow the sequence: CIS 3010, BUS 3050,
    FIN 3030, ECON 3060, MKT 3100, MGMT3060, MGMT 3070, MGMT 3080, BUS 4150, and BUS 4970.

3: ECON 3060 is double-counted in upper division GE Block B: Natural Science and Mathematics

4: MGMT 3080 is double-counted in GE Block C: Upper Division Requirement: Arts and Humanities.

5: BUS 3050 is designated as a Writing Intensive (WI) course.

Discipline Skills Requirement


In addition, all students must complete a 3-unit skills course specified by their option.

Option Requirements (21 units)


This option conveys analytical and quantitative skills needed by consulting firms, business corporations and government agencies.

Electives (9 units)


Select two upper division ECON courses and one upper division non-economics course from the College of Business and Economics, with adviser approval.
