The minor in Korean, totaling 23 units, is available for students majoring in other fields. It provides students with Korean language proficiency and knowledge of Korean society and its culture. It may be of particular value to students interested in the study of languages and literatures, industry, sociology, history, culture and politics of Asia, or in employment with Korea-related businesses or government. KOR 1001 and 1002 or an equivalent level of proficiency are prerequisite to this program; proficiency may be demonstrated by high school preparation or by a departmental examination.
