Art is a means of creative communication and expression. The programs in the Department of Art offer students the opportunity to acquire a background of understanding and skills, and to develop their abilities in the visual arts. The programs prepare students for advanced professional study in art as well as for many professions in teaching, business, and industry. Students with career interests in animation, ceramics, graphic design, photography, illustration, computer graphics, painting, printmaking, sculpture, art history, fashion and textiles, and art education will find appropriate programs or courses of study in the department. The department also participates in an Interdisciplinary Studies Minor in Multimedia that enables students to develop interactive, multimedia products.
