Course Description: Causes, characteristics, mitigation and case histories of natural disasters affecting civilization. Topics include earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, storms and floods, tsunami, asteroid impacts, forest fires, climate changes, and mass extinctions. Lecture 2 hours: laboratory 3 hours.
