Description Causes, characteristics, mitigation and case histories of natural disasters affecting civilization. Topics include earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, landslides, storms and floods, tsunami, asteroid impacts, forest fires, climate changes, and mass extinctions. Lecture 2 hours: laboratory 3 hours.
