CRIM 417 - Forensic Microscopy and Trace Evidence Analysis (4) Prerequisites: CRIM 409, PHYS 101-103 (or equivalent) or PHYS 201-203 (or equivalent). Fundamentals of microscopy and the application of microanalysis to forensic science; examination of trace evidence samples: hair, glass, soil, paint, and fibers. Emphasis is on identification, individualization and associative value of trace evidence. (Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 3 hours)
