Prerequisites: Completion of GE 4 basic subjects and a course each from lower division Blocks B, C and D. Interdisciplinary study of gender, race, poverty and welfare policy in the United States.  Critical examination of the politics of poor motherhood, with a focus on African American and Latina women and their families.
