CHEM 1040 - General Chemistry for Engineers (4) Prerequisites: Must be Engineering major and have a score of 50 or more on (or exemption from) ELM or MATH 0930 with a minimum C grade. Fundamental theory and applications of chemical principles. Atomic structure, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, reaction stoichiometry, thermochemistry, equilibrium, electrochemistry, classes and nomenclature of chemical compounds. Lecture 3 hours. Laboratory 3 hours.
