ASTR 4900 - Community Astrophysics Project, Community Astrophysics (3) Prerequisites: PHYS 2300, ASTR 3600 and one of the following ASTR 3110, ASTR 4110, or PHYS 4251; PHYS 3200 or demonstrated knowledge of computer programming. Additional prerequisite: Satisfactory completion of the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (WPE/WGR). Students use astrophysics knowledge to design a new public exhibit for Griffith Observatory or other science facility and develop Civic Learning/Community Engagement (CL) skills at the upper division level. Astrophysics review and scientific programming culminating in a technical project proposal. Lecture 3 hours. WI
